His action though a bit unorthodox was entirely justifiable, when you consider how he had lost his family brutally at the hands of Red John. He did not find it uncomfortable at all to sleep at the CBI office.

Jane sharing his memories of LeeLee Barlow, when she was a cute little girl was poignant. His sharing it with Lisbon was good, but when he had shared it with no one else, Red John knowing about it was really frightening.

It could not have been a coincidence at this stage and it obviously showed that Eileen Barlow had some other link that Jane had not recognized so far. By not doing so, he had unwittingly given Red John the fuel he needed. Otherwise, Red John must have been a psychic or someone with supernatural powers.

But Red John being psychic was not credible at all. Jane would certainly not believe in it as he had himself exposed the psychic girl in Venice. She had immediately abandoned her act when she knew that they were not buying it. But Lisbon reacting to the situation was a big surprise.

Lisbon beginning to believe that Red John was really a psychic was ridiculous. She looked uneasy when Shawn Barlow had offered to read her. His reading her mind and saying that she was in love with Patrick and how he was controlling and secretive certainly made Lisbon believe him.

Though his prediction is true, he certainly is not psychic. It shows how observant his is and how well he had studied her. Patrick now dwelling on the subject of her loving him showed that both of them do not want to confront the truth yet.

In the tense episode, the only relief was Rigsby’s humor. The way he tried to share the new turn in his relationship with Van Pelt to his partner was really funny. The way Cho responded was even more humorous.

With the fifth season finale nearing, the truth about Red John hung like a black cloud. The final seven suspects were finally revealed. Red John knowing about the wall long before he had made Kirkland’s men copy it was finally realized by Jane. With Red John’s dislike for Jane growing in intensity, the next season will certainly be dangerous.

Red John kills again just as Jane narrows down the suspect list to seven and the victim has a connection to Jane’s past.

It is impossible not to have a great episode when J.J. LaRoche is working with Patrick Jane.

It was thrilling to see Jane get excited when he hears LaRoche was asking for him. It was impossible for him to resist. Even as important a matter as the search of Red John could not keep him away.

The opening scenes, which were about the crime scene, were particularly enjoyable. Jane noticed the Hummels were broken. Rigsby babysits the dog of LaRoche. It was revelation that Lisbon is not a fan of dogs. Or perhaps the dogs do not like him.

LaRoche blames Jane of being a puppet master in the ambulance. He was agitated in the ambulance. Jane spits out a witty reply. Her reply and the response of LaRoche showed they feel a deep affection for each other.

Jane said: “I never though of you as a puppet.” La Roche replied: “You ever thought of me as a friend?”

It was great to watch the two men together. They are odd ducks. Their relationship is oddly refreshing.

There was no one in the episode who did not provide us with banter. Grace, Wayne and Teresa were discussing the advantages and disadvantages of Tupperware. Jane compares LaRoche to a Sharpei puppy. Each one of the conversations was alluding to the affection and the comfort each of them feels for each other.

Jane calls Lisbon sexy. Then he calls her a spinster.

It was clear the move would succeed when an ex-cellmate of Sayney said how quite he was. LaRoche’s mom begs for mercy for hours. He made sure the man who raped her would never beg for mercy again.

Jane is concerned about LaRoche’s privacy. This was amusing. It all starts with him. He hired a petty thief to break into the house of the man.

Finally for Brenda, it is time to take down the bad witch. Who is left who has not helped her? Volker, Miguel… or perhaps even Red John.

Is the last time we will see LaRoche? Let’s hope it is not. Do you think Brenda is the only mole in the organisation? And, any guesses about the last seven Red John suspects? Keep on speculating as we head towards the season finale.

When J.J. LaRoche’s mysterious container is stolen from his home, he asks Jane for his help.

The team is seen solving a murder mystery where the plot has four people standing at the four sides of a quadrangle. It appears that a couple struggling through the rough phase of the marriage gets into deeper trouble when the marriage counselor is awestruck by the wife’s feet. The counselor’s wife seemed to have done the justice herself by killing the estranged wife thinking her to be the culprit responsible for the infidel behavior of counselor husband.

Cho as usual was at his wittiest during the interrogation scenes. His unexpected comments added to the fun quotient of the episode. He also managed to speak some lines that amused the viewers undoubtedly on hearing Kip’s side of story.

Some of the noticeable scenes during the investigation are

1. Kip found tied in the jungle adding more mystery to the case

2. Cho interrogating Kip for establishing his role in the murder

3. Jane enjoying delicacies from the victim’s kitchen quite normal to his habit of eating while solving a case

4. Foot liking of the suspect that kept all of the investigators on toes built up more suspense in the episode while Red John mystery took the back seat for sometime; at least Lisbon was able to shift Jane’s focus from this mysterious character by asking him for help.

5. Patrick’s attempt at playing RJ surprised the audience with his singing and anchoring talent. They want to see more of his this talent. But the fact is every alternative road taken by him leads only to arranging the pieces of mystery together.

The episode is full of fun, action, excitement and dilemma. The murder mystery involved keeps everybody thinking about the relevance of relationships in the life. It sort of taught the audience as well as characters the importance of realizing when it is actually over. Moving on is better option than sticking to already dead relationship.

All the actors played their usual roles very well and did their best to make this episode a memorable offering. The series will continue wooing the audience with tight plot, interesting witnesses, great interaction among characters and with unusual choice of murder mysteries.

When a woman dies after talking with a radio love doctor, Rigsby and Van Pelt are sent undercover to investigate. Posing as a couple with relationship problems may do more than just shed light on the case.

Kirkland and Lisbon share the most uncomfortable cup of coffee ever on television. This is anti-thesis of the chemistry we have seen between them. Teresa appeared to be wanting to run away from the scene as fast as she could.

Kirkland was creepy. Jane and Lisbon describe him beautifully in this The Mentalist quote: “Don’t you think it’s odd, Homeland Security’s fascination with a California serial killer? ”

To this Lisbon replies: “Everything about Bob Kirkland is odd. You can add that to the list.”

Things became even more abnormal. It was surprising to watch Kirkland’s agents break into Jane’s house. They went there to find out what she was hiding on Red John. Has Red John grown to admire Jane’s work?

Percy in California is as odd as the person who owns it. Hollis snarls at his son for not knowing Julianna was his sister. This enrages him. He kills her. This was a nighmarish situation.

Jane sharpens her skills in the Wild West setting. She tells Kevin he had magic which sucked eggs. It seemed a little odd to hear these words come out from her mouth. This is usually the case with more eloquent Patrick Jane.

Rigsby wants to use his arson skills in situations of cabin fires. It is always great to be reminded of this creativity of Wayne.

Wayne knew what was coming when he saw the new boyfriend walked out of the lift.

To conclude it was a normal The Mentalist episode.

The CBI investigate when the owner of a wild west tourist town is found dead. Agent Kirkland attempts to discover just how much Jane knows about Red John.

Even though Jane has always been suspicious of Kirkland, even she didn’t know he could be an agent of Red John. Can he convince Lisbon about it?

One almost feels sorry for Jason when Kirkland injects the IV into him. The poor man just came out of a long coma to remember how he was shot by Lorelei, only to find his life snuffed out in a moment. He was so weak and helpless that he could have done nothing to save himself room from this fate.

Lisbon is the most confusing character in the series. She is happy to hand over their link or Red John to Kirkland. How isn’t she worried about her career? It initially seemed she was creepy of that suspicious federal agent.

The best part of the instalment was Jane hiring LaRoche to find a non-existent investor. It was fun to watch them work together. Jane cajoles him to do this.

Jane didn’t feel odd at the theatre. The actors were similar to the folks at carnie. They were all busy put on a big show.

It was so mush Jane-ish to watch her listen to Deandra in the back of a theatre. Lisbon walks past him and never notices him.

Deandra has a heart wrenching story. She is suffering from multiple sclerosis. It was depressing to watch her colleagues gossiping about her. She was reunited with her biological daughter after a long time. It was tragic to watch her lost her due to a terrible ponzi financial scheme.

Finally Grace Van Pelt returns to the CBI. It has been long. Will Rigsby find the guts to play for her? We will have to wait at least until next week.

When the lead in the local theater production dies, the CBI is called on to investigate. Jane is determined to question comatose Jason Lennon about Red John.
