The CBS series “The Mentalist” will feature actor Henry Thomas as a guest star in one of its upcoming episodes.

Made famous for his portrayal of Elliot in E.T., Thomas will play the role of Tommy Tunney who is Lisbon’s brother. Tommy is an experienced bounty hunter who will stumble with his separated sister. The two will be given the chance to get to know each other well as they get to work together in a murder case of a police officer.

In an interview with Bruno Heller, creator of “Mentalist”, he explained that Tommy is somewhat seen as the black sheep of the family since the Lisbon family is known to be working in the police force or as a fireman. Tommy will present a different side of the Lisbon clan wherein he will tag along his 12 year old together in one of his bounty hunt in one of the upcoming episodes.

Aside from the 1982 E.T. hit movie, Henry Thomas also starred in the 1990 film Psycho IV and the 2002 film Gangs of New York. Some of his projects include 1997 Niagara and few guest appearances in Without a Trace and CSI.

Mentalist has other guest actors and actresses lined up for future roles including Reed Diamond of The Shield, Michael Rady of Greek and Kelli Williams of Kellie Williams.

Watch out for the return of Mentalist in CBS this coming September 22. Thomas’ episode appearance is expected to be aired sometime in October.
