The Mentalist 4.12 “My Bloody Valentine” Review
This week’s episode was titled ‘My Bloody Valentine’ and it had two characters in Grace and Rigsby looking at opposite directions. Whilst something from the past caught up with grace, Rigsby had to contend with his future.

Grace seemed to have been bedeviled with chaos as every thing that could go wrong actually did and she was in the middle of it all. She was still on the run from the hired gun, got her car smashed up and also got shot at. Coupled with all these, she had the hooker with her who later turned out to be a killer.
Then things of the ‘third kind’ started occurring. She started having vision of her fiancĂ© who had died. This may have come about as a result of injuries sustained during the accident because she might as well have had a concussion. Lisbon too didn’t seem to help matters when she brought about the issue of the necklace. There were maybe better ways she could have handled it but she did what she did and that seemed to have been the tip over point for Grace.
The way the hooker turned out to be the murderer was more or less a breath of fresh air. She could have passed off as one of those prostitutes that really had some thing really good that made her entirely lovable. But she turned out to be far worse and almost killed Grace.
The issue surrounding Grace also cast a light about Rigsby and the pair in general. They were once an item and it seemed like they still had feeling for each other even if none of them would admit it to each other. It did look justified though that Rigsby should be worried over Grace and her disappearance but he did not think to call Sarah for once.
As for Sarah, she suddenly seemed to have shifted in character with her relationship with Rigsby and this might be a pointer that thing are not going well between the two. But it came as a shock that the reason behind the change was that she was pregnant. This is a development that will definitely add to the drama.
The episode had Grace’s issue at the center but another person that took a chunk of the screen time was Jane. The way the conversation went between him and Porchetto over the fellow who had his son killed is a point of reference. He played on the man’s understanding of the feelings for vengeance.
Lisbon was quick to agree with the plan of Jane. She seemed to be more trusting these days and has stopped bickering and questioning his every decision. The thing with this new development is that they can become closer but it may be that it would bring nothing but heartache for her.
Talking about questions, this episode seemed to leave the viewers with more questions. Grace did not get answers as it concerned Craig. It could be that she was just a pawn or that he truly loved her. But with Sarah’s pregnancy coming up it can only mean that Rigsby would have some issues to contend with in the coming episodes.
