The Mentalist 4.19 “Pink Champagne on Ice” Review
On this week’s episode of The Mentalist we finally got to see another character from Jane’s past, as “Pink Champagne on Ice” presented us with Jack who is a magician. But this character was very boring compared to the other characters from Jane’s past, and despite the fact that we all like to hear and learn more about her suspicious past, but this one wasn’t that good, as he can be easily considered as the least entertaining guest. Although it was clear in the very cheesy magic show at the casino that Jack has been having a tough life, but still, it was very unentertaining for viewers. And since they haven’t met in quite a long time, it would be kind of hard to start that conversation.

It was very easy to spot the killer being Jack’s assistant, it was very predictable since the get go. And no one can blame her, as she was so desperate. In fact, who wouldn’t be so desperate for a chance to get a large amount of cash in order to get rid of that awful casino show and that lousy cheesy custom? Although, this doesn’t give her the right to be killing people, but everyone could relate to her desperation. Recently, Grace is getting the craziest interviews from suspects, on this episode we got her interviewing Trish, who was claiming that she had some kind of conscience, because she wasn’t that happy and actually felt sad because she killed these people. As for Ryan, he was the total opposite, as he didn’t care at all; he had no morals and no conscience.
And now onto another storyline which was very interesting and surprising, the whole casino heist story. And Jane got the CBI team with her, somehow. And it was very entertaining and fun to watch the team banter after joining Jane. But this storyline wasn’t without questions, as the main question was regarding the fact that they stated they need the security key so they can go to the vault. And if that is true, how did they manage to get back without needing the key, because we all saw the security locking the door. Another question that is looking for an answer is the question regarding the flowers that Cho brought to Summer, is this considered a romantic approach, or is it a lover’s spat, it made everyone eager to find out the story behind this. So to sum things up, it was a fine episode, not the best and by far not the favorite, but it was ok. Lisbon wasn’t on the air for enough time for us to enjoy her performance. And of course, we are eager to watch how will things end, especially with the soon to come season finale.
